On June 9, the "Fronius Changzhou Tech Day" was successfully held at the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center. Gerhard Maynhardt, Consul General of Austria in Shanghai; Magdalena Junez, Commercial Vice-Consul; Li Desen, District Chief of Zhonglou District, Changzhou; Wang Doudou, Deputy District Chief of Zhonglou District, Changzhou; Zhang Yi, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wuxing Sub-district; and Zhang Ming, Managing Director of Fronius China, attended the event. More than 80 industry representatives from China and Austria gathered to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
Founded in 1945, Fronius is a global leader in welding technology. It set up operations at the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center in March this year. The Tech Day showcased cutting-edge welding processes and automation solutions, building a high-level platform for exchanges and cooperation in Sino-Austrian smart manufacturing. It serves as a vivid example of practical industrial collaboration between China and Austria.
At the event, Consul General Gerhard Maynhardt and Commercial Vice-Consul Magdalena Junez delivered speeches and congratulated the organizers on the successful event. They noted that Changzhou has a solid industrial foundation and a dynamic innovation ecosystem, making it an important destination for Austrian enterprises to expand their presence in China.
Li Desen, District Chief of Zhonglou District, Changzhou, stated in his speech that he hopes Fronius will take this event as a new starting point to further deepen its roots in Zhonglou. The company is expected to introduce more cutting-edge technologies, R&D achievements and industrial projects to the district and grow into a benchmark for Sino-Austrian cooperation. He also called on all present enterprises to seize opportunities and connect with Fronius’ advanced technical resources. They are encouraged to work together to make progress in technological research, project supporting services and industry-university-research integration, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. In addition, he expected the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center to better serve as a bridge, strengthen the brand of Sino-Austrian cooperation and attract more high-quality enterprises to settle here. The District Party Committee and District Government will always uphold the steward-style service philosophy. We will provide comprehensive support in policy implementation, factor guarantee and talent introduction and cultivation, and fully facilitate the steady growth of enterprises in Zhonglou.
Since its official launch in March this year, the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center has achieved fruitful outcomes in external exchanges and project attraction. It has fully demonstrated Zhonglou’s sincerity and strength in opening-up, and enhanced the center’s international visibility and industrial influence. In terms of project attraction, a growing number of science and innovation enterprises have been drawn here and established a firm presence at the China-Austria Innovation Center. A host of enterprises including Fronius, FerRobotics, TYROLIT, EQShares, WISE Landscape Environment Technology Co., Ltd. and IWG Group have all signed agreements and settled in. Meanwhile, projects from Austria’s leading environmental firm DENKGRÜN (DG), Hong Kong KIHOME HOLDING LIMITED and PESSL (Austria) are advancing steadily.
As a key vehicle for Sino-Austrian cooperation, the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center will continue to act as a bridge. On the one hand, it will actively introduce high-quality enterprises, advanced technologies and high-end resources from Austria and the rest of Europe. On the other hand, it will help local enterprises enter Austria and other European markets. The center will deepen all-round exchanges between the two countries in industry, science, innovation and talent, and strive to build a benchmark platform featuring distinctive Sino-Austrian industrial cooperation.
