On the afternoon of August 28, 2026, a China-Austria industrial cooperation exchange was held at the China-Austria Innovation Center (Changzhou), or CAIC.
Participants included Jakub Jan Gurba, Executive Secretary-General of the Vienna-based International Center for Education and Innovation (ICEI); Diana Fedorenko, Board Member of ICEI; Zhang Min, Secretary of ICEI; Harold, representing Nexus Dynamics International; Tian Diyu, Director of the Wuxing Subdistrict Office; and representatives of CAIC.
Connecting Chinese and Austrian Resources
Based in Vienna, ICEI maintains long-standing connections with Austrian universities, research institutions and innovative companies. Its activities include joint talent development, international study programmes, academic conferences and two-way industrial matchmaking. Through these initiatives, ICEI promotes cooperation between China, Austria and Central and Eastern European countries in science, technology, education and industry.
Representatives of CAIC introduced the center’s work in China-Austria industrial matchmaking, technology transfer, international business services and cross-border project cooperation. Drawing on their respective resources and service capabilities, the two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation and developing a sustainable cooperation mechanism.
Five Priority Areas for Future Cooperation
The discussions focused on five areas:
1. Industry-oriented training and international talent development;
2. Technology transfer and local implementation services for Austrian innovations;
3. China-Austria science and technology projects and joint research and development;
4. International educational tours and study programmes;
5. The establishment of a long-term and in-depth cooperation mechanism.
The exchange enhanced mutual understanding and created a new channel connecting Austrian and Central and Eastern European innovation resources with the industrial needs of Changzhou.
Moving forward, CAIC will maintain close communication with ICEI, identify priority areas for cooperation and promote substantive projects in science, technology, education and industry.
